Tobago bus sheds cost $55,000 each

To­ba­go House of As­sem­bly’s (THA) Set­tle­ments, Ur­ban Re­new­able and Pub­lic Util­i­ties Clarence Ja­cob has cleared up the cost of the new­ly built bus sheds in To­ba­go.

Speak­ing at this week’s vir­tu­al post-Ex­ec­u­tive Coun­cil me­dia brief­ing on Wednes­day, Ja­cob said they cost $55,000 each.

Be­fore the THA Jan­u­ary 25, 2021 elec­tions, doc­u­ments pur­port­ing to show in­voic­es and pay­ments for the sheds sur­faced, be­com­ing a talk­ing point on the cam­paign trail.
On Wednes­day, Ja­cob said six bus sheds are com­plete.

“…I want to cor­rect some mis­in­for­ma­tion …where it was said those bus shel­ters cost $208,000… Those bus sheds were com­plet­ed for $50,000 plus vat,” Ja­cob said
