An 18-year-old Venezuelan woman who was arrested last week for allegedly assaulting a 24-year-old special needs woman was granted bail yesterday.
Dinmar Ali appeared before a Master of the High Court on four charges: grievous sexual assault, malicious wounding, throwing a corrosive substance and false imprisonment.
The teen was granted $250,000 bail to cover the four charges.
It is alleged that the victim was burnt with a lighter on her breast and other areas and hot pepper rubbed on her eyes and genitals. On one occasion, a fork was allegedly shoved into her vagina and a hot spoon was placed on her forehead and other areas.
The victim was also allegedly put on the bonnet of a car, after which the driver sped off, causing her to fall. She was also reportedly placed in a kennel and had urine thrown at her.
The offences allegedly occurred between January and April in central Trinidad.
